Drafts from reshaping the form to express the narrative of the ‘Pipi shape more clearly:
Left – Form reflects a pointed shell maintaining a negative which neighbours Snickel Lane, allowing light access into the Snickel Arcade. Enough space on the East end for a rock garden.
Right – The form reflects both a curved shell and a Luna shape, corresponding with the connection that the moon has with the Waitematā Harbour.
Bottom Left – (A rounded version of top Left,) responding to the fluidity of the original shoreline, focusing on curvature.
Bottom Right – A Korū/ fishhook form which exterior spaces are kept interiorly away from the building edges. A beautiful resemblance of honour to the Waitematā Harbour.

Completed digital modelling of the community space. Reworked 3D modelling until fluid and expressed the best.

North – South view of the design. Beautiful flush glass panels are seen from this viewpoint:

South – North view of ‘Whakakotahi’ peering over the ledge:

The form of the proposed design is seen here. Fluid and shell like, also replicating the waves of Waitematā Harbour.
